Michael Hamilton stepped off the dance floor and behind the microphone at
his local dance in Peninsula, OH four years ago. He began dancing in college
and, under the mentorship of Carol Kopp, has become a mainstay caller in the
northeast Ohio dance communities. He often calls for home dances throughout
Ohio and further afield (Pittsburgh, PA; Rochester, NY; Lexington, KY; and
Chicago, IL), and has called for several dance weekends, like Independence
Daze in Delafield, WI. Furthermore, he is actively aiding the expansion of
the greater dance community by calling for dances targeting younger audiences
at college communities like Oberlin College and Case Western Reserve University.
Michael shares the joy of the dance floor by presenting dances with poise
and direct simplicity, while maintaining a flexibility and patience to match
the abilities of his dancers.
He is a charismatic and artful caller who chooses the right
dances for the situation. His voice calls you to attention, his instructions
compel smiles, and he leads you forward with purpose, direction, and joy.
He believes dancers can execute any pattern, and with his guidance they can.
